Finding a GSMD

The new Breed Information Contacts Listing (BICL), which will be presented on the CGSMDC web site at www.cascadeswissyclub.com, has been approved by the Board and is ready for implementation. The BICL is intended to provide the general public with a list of contacts (both breeder and non-breeder CGSMDC members) who are willing to educate potential owners about the breed and to encourage them to be responsible in their selection of a Swissy. We are hopeful that many CGSMDC members will want to be listed as we would like to provide many different contacts to the public.

To be listed as a BIC you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A CGSMDC full member (family or individual) for a period of 24 consecutive months or have been a CGSMDC full member for a period of 12 consecutive months and a GSMDCA full member for a period of 24 months.
  • Volunteered at least 3 hours of time annually to the CGSMDC.
  • Completed and signed the request to be listed along with providing the answers requested in the questionnaire. This request must be renewed on an annual basis with the Breeder Resources Committee.
  • Are willing to dedicate the necessary time to answer questions from the public in a timely and informative manner.

If you meet the above requirements and would like to be listed on the BICL, please complete the BICL Request and Questionnaire (download | online) or contact BR Committee Chair Lisa Simonsen if you need to have the BICL Request mailed to you. Please be aware that the information you provide will be listed on the Internet for public access. To be listed you must answer all applicable questions completely and accurately.

Please keep in mind that this listing is not just for breeders, it is for any qualified Club member who would like to be involved in educating the public about our versatile breed! We are not only hoping to provide contacts for individuals interested in learning about the breed, but also to individuals that already own a Swissy and would like to learn more about activities they could participate in. We are hoping that this listing will provide a complete directory of individuals for any Swissy fancier to contact. So if you are interested in being listed and providing information to the public and other Swissy fanciers, please visit the Club’s web site to view the BICL Request and also a sample of the listing.

The Breeder Resources Committee will maintain the BICL, so any questions or concerns about the listing should be directed to the Committee Chair Lisa Simonsen, at gsmd@paintedswissys.com.
