Bindi and Bear are our first "Co-Dogs" of the Month since you just can't tell stories about one - without including the other! Bindi (more formally known as "Alki's Butterfly Bend") has lived with Tim and Stephanie Perciful in Renton since she was a pup. Bear ("Alki's Carabiner Bear" at black tie affairs) came to live with his sister just two years ago. They had stayed close, visiting and playing together often, so the transition to living together was absolutely no effort - for them. For Tim & Steph, until the novelty finally wore off, it was a like hosting a non-stop kid's slumber party! They would stay up playing all night long!! Completely inseparable, they're true siblings- they get jealous if one receives more attention; yet they do not like to be separated. Even their vet prefers to keep them both if one needs to stay for any reason because they're such a comfort to each other. They hike together, sleep together, and even pull their wagon together in brace. It's obvious that these two are fully aware their mission is to stay together, enjoy life, and be completely catered to by Tim and Steph!

For recreation and relaxation, B&B both enjoy paperback novels - eating them, that is! They truly excel at barking, constantly, at everyone. Bear's favorite activity is drafting, while Bindi's favorite is hiking. And they both LOVE to herd/chase sheep. They also love to participate in parades like the Maifest Grand Procession and the Cle Elum Christmas Parade of Lights. They're charitable too, and regularly participate in local shelter fundraisers like PawsWalk and Furry 5K.

Besides the daily canine cuisine that is provided by their caretakers, B&B also enjoy lighter fare, including paper, socks, mud, grass, peanut butter, beer, cat food, and gum found on the ground that is still somewhat fresh. Truly eclectic tastes!

Bindi LOVES new toys. Each time she gets one (which is often) she will carry it around constantly, sleep with it tucked under her chin, and even bark with it in her mouth. If you dare refuse to play with her, she won't give up, but will keep digging through the toy box, returning and piling up offerings at your feet until she finds just the right one that triggers the play response in the human - obviously the only reason someone would refuse to play would be because they did not like that particular toy, right?

Bear is the "Hug Police" at home. Noone can give another person a hug without him barking and jumping and throwing a fit. Besides his policing duties (which he takes very seriously), his strongest trait is his food motivation. Each morning he lies in front of the cabinet where his cookies are kept and whines a high pitched pathetic sound - to let everyone know he will die if he does not get that morning cookie.

They share their home with three cats - "Rabbit," "Karma," and "Voodoo" - who is thoroughly convinced that he is the third Swissy in the house, and acts just like one. Both have learned to spell p-a-r-k, and c-o-o-k-i-e. I guess that means the days of spelling things out so the kids don't understand are over for the Perciful family!
