Pet First Aid Class

Learn Pet First Aid in a class that is intended for anyone that is interested in caring for their pet during an emergency. The class is intended for dog lovers with little to no pet first aid experience. The class will also cover disaster planning for your pets. This class is fun and informative and will focus on Swissy related health issues such as bloat and seizures. The class is scheduled for about 6 hours of instruction including practical skills and hands on learning. Students will also get information to take home to help them prepare for an emergency or a disaster for their dog.
Some of the skills and information that students will learn include:
▪How to restrain a sick or injured animal ▪Bandaging ▪Splinting ▪Various common pet illnesses or conditions.
▪What to do in poison emergencies ▪What to put in a pet first aid kit & pet disaster kit
▪How to help a choking dog or cat.
▪How to check a pulse on a dog or cat ▪Pet CPR ▪How to do a physical assessment (nose to tail)
Classes are $40.00 per person. $30.00 CGSMDC members. CGSMDC recognizes the importance of learning these very important skills and has agreed to pay $10.00 of this fee for club members only.
