MEMBERSHIP

Thank you for your interest in joining the Cascade Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club! We are a longtime established breed club serving the Pacific Northwest with membership concentration in the Greater Portland and Greater Seattle areas. Additionally, we have members sprinkled throughout the country who are fellow swissy enthusiasts. 

Advantages of the Cascade Greater Swiss Mountain Club
  • We are the only American Kennel Club (AKC) licensed Greater Swiss Mountain Dog club within the Pacific Northwest! This allows us to offer specialty shows for conformation, rally, and obedience. Specialties are a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety and age ranges of swissies from puppies to veterans. Specialties allow for breeders and exhibitors to showcase their dogs in both conformation and performance events. 
  • We are the only designated and recognized regional club with our parent club, The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America for the Pacific Northwest! This designation allows us to host GSMDCA endorsed events such as pack hikes, draft trials, and weight pulls.  
  • We offer the quarterly newsletter called the "E-Summit" highlighting members and their accomplishments for no cost, we're happy to celebrate in these milestones! Additionally, the newsletters also include litter announcements for breeders, event details, informative articles, recipes, brags and more.  Our newsletter editors are always looking for fresh content and would love your contribution! 
  • Cascade members participate in breed education at "Meet the Breed Booths" at local kennel Club shows. These outreach opportunities provide a terrific outlet to showcase your beloved swissy to the public wanting to learn more about the breed or those just wanting to meet a swissy in real life! 
  • Throughout the year we have a variety of club functions that are social events like our annual holiday party, club BBQ, ice cream social and more!
  • Breeder members can sign-up new puppy homes for a year free associate membership.
Membership Levels:  Applicants for all levels must be at least 18 years of age. Ownership of a GSMD is required for all voting levels. All New Individual and Family Membership applications must be supported by two sponsors who are currently voting members in good standing of the CGSMDC.
  • Individual Membership ($20) – Open to persons 18 years of age and older and who own a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (GSMD) at the time of application. The member shall enjoy all the privileges of the Club, including one vote, and the ability to hold office.
  • Family Membership ($30) – Has the same requirements as an individual membership and is further defined to include the following: two (2) members of the same household, 18 years or older. Each member will receive one vote and the ability to hold office.
  • Associate Membership ($15) – Open to persons 18 years of age and older who are not in the Club's immediate area or those who are inactive within the Club. Associate members shall enjoy all privileges except voting or holding the position of an officer or director. Associate members do not count in determining a quorum.
